that maroon shoebox ford with the gold scallops i think is called the golden ruby.last time i saw it it was for sale for $125k
Speeking of Custom Hill, i really dig the front end of that Chev'... may be that '55 Poncho bumper need to be a little closer to the body but....
Bob, I know Joe has good days and bad days, hopefully you just saw him on one of his bad ones and he's past that now. We saw him and Marie in mid Sept, and I was actually surprised at how good he looked and how sharp he was. He acutally remembered my name and asked about the lincoln!! Sometimes he's not so "with it".
Me Likey Very Much! I remember driving to Sled Scene East that year. The teal Chevy with the split Dodge grille bars pulled up behind me just after crossing the Steelton bridge. I spotted him a quarter mile behind in the rear-view when he stepped on it and shot by. Really nice car - Haven't seen it in awhile, though.
Rick Dore's 36Ford has always been one of my favs. I took this picture off the net. I had a much better one of it on my old computer as my screen saver for a long time, but can't locate it right now. Beautiful Kustom!!
Okay,no "real" Kustoms but phenomenal looking cars. Those Imps are factory Customs anyway... Janne : GREAT !
This car belongs to a guy I know in Vancouver, British Columbia named Laurie Peterson. The guy is an excellent craftsmen and has built some great cars. He is gonna help me chop my 34 5 window when I get ready.
Paul Kelly emailed me these pics to post here. Twin Spinner ute was customised in '91 by Paul Kelly This custom below was started in 1954 as a damaged '38 Ford Sedan. It was built up into a convertible, later the roof was added & is from a FJ Holden, running gear is from a Jag & lastly but not least the worlds best Hudson Custom, customised by Paul Kelly
I don't care what anybody says, continental kits and extended rear quarters kick ass (on the right cars). I love livin on the east coast!
El Matador Black and white photo's from the Keith Ashley collection. Shown before but I really like the Golden Sunrise built by Gene Winfield. As it was built originaly and a new version Also shown before... but never enough is Rick Dore's 36 Ford. And the original design by Steve Stanford.
Dore's 36 kicks ass but that winshield sucks ! It's a pity cutting the roof out of a coupe and let it like that ! specially on a big buck car...
Totally agree, the windshield never was my favourite part on this custom either. Especially after seeing the original Steve Stanford design plus knowing they put a lot of effort into adding this V-shaped windshield, knowing the 36 Ford never had a V-windshield. I believe the windshield came from a 46-48 Chevy... not sure though
I like the windshield on Rick Dore's '36 it works for me. I think it adds another element (elegence), without that windshield it would look like any other custom Ford convert.
I'll take a moment in this Kustom Admiration Fest to acknowledge Steve Stanford. In the context of imagining custom modifications and illustrating them in an exciting but believable way, Steve is the best there ever was.
