Thought you would like to see the history of my 40 ford. Click on link and then on page #1 and then on each photo to enlarge. 19Fordy [IMG]

  6. Very nice car. The more I see these 40's, the more I love them. Yours just has the right stance: very agressive!
btw, C9, is that the '40 from the cover of Pinky? I 've almost finished reading that brick and it's a fantastic read!

Great history and a great car!

My dad bought his 40 coupe in the mid 70's and finished it in the early 80's. His car is built very similar to yours...59AB, Harmon Collins cam, Offy 4bbl, Fenton headers, 40 trans, 40 rear w/3.54 gears, dropped axle, 15" disc wheels.

Here is a pic of his car at the 1982 NSRA Western Nats along with his 46 p/u and my brother's 41 p/u...

I will show him your pics, I am sure he will get a kick out of it.

Oh, one question on your fan, I would guess you are running a double groove lower pulley? Is that a truck item or custom made?

Cheeta, Your 40 is a beauty. Unfortunately I don't have any knowledge on the the history of your hot rod.
I wish you all the very best.

Nice '40, Cheeta. What exactly is Pinky, a local magazine?

Thanks!! Pinky is a book written in 2003 by member C9, Jay Carnine (now deceased). I now own the car featured on the cover of the book. Here's pictures of Pinky and another book he wrote. And a back view of my car showing the old California plate. Last renewed in CA in 2009. Maybe someone will recognize it. DSCN2289 (2).JPG 40CoupeB.jpg
