1952-59 Ford hello from leesburg ga.

    hey guys and gals, this is howell from leesburg ga. Im the new owner of a 1954 ford (not sure of the model yet,question to come). This is my first ford,I bought this car to customize and bring back to life. I love old cars and i love to be able to tell people " yeah i did that ,yeah i painted that etc..." Since this is my first ford im still trying to figure out what i have and where to get parts so thanks in advance for all the answers and help.I will post pictures on my next question.

    Welcome Howell, you are in the right place. 54 Ford's are very good cars, they can be kept stock underneath to save money, and they ride and handle very well.

    If you post the the info from your ID tag (should look something like this:64C KE BL 28B 297) we can tell you what model you have.

    70A is a Mainline 2 door sedan, paint code GA-Killarney Green-Raven Black, 11C-date code 11th of month, not sure what month C stands for. Not sure of the rest of the code.
    You can also join the lovefords group http://www.lovefords.org/vin-information.html They charge $1 to decode your VIN, I think it might be free if you join, not sure.

    the-stig, can you tell me the difference in the mainline and customline,are all the parts interchangable for the two,like windshield,floor boards,rockers ect...

    I always thought a customline was just ahigher trim level than a mainline; they are both sedans (i.e.- not a hardtop like a victoria).
