Man i waited for what seemed like forever to get this one home, but it was delivered into my driveway Friday all the way from fillmore Ca., an hour and 45 minuets West of us.
It looks in better shape now than when i saw it at
his house cause it was jammed into a hole just big enough for it to fit in, and other car projects, cans car parts and misc. other things encapolated it so that it was hard to get a full-on side view of, or get to see any full view of the car at all, but as long as i could see that it didnt have any major dents in the body i was ok cause i already knew the car was exactly what i wanted.
Couple little rust holes in the lower inner trunk
lid and a few little spots under the rear rocker panels. little in the trunk floor but other than that rust free! Regular surface rust from sitting in a aggrecultered climate but not bad for a mure grand.
    I am a happy camper!:D

Time for pictures! Hip and I spent the day getting the motor ready to come out. I have appointed myself the official photographer of this project. :D

Love the piano hinge hood! It's stock, and opens toward either side, or the hood just comes right off with both sides unlocked. Clever Buick engineers!!

Bummer the motor has to go, but that was the deal.......the straight 8 is right at home in this engine bay. Dual Strombergs too! On a side note, this engine was built right in the flathead era, but it looks OHV to me! It's leaving so Hip can't let me play with it. Can anyone confirm OHV for me?

Hip doesn't realize the camera is watching! Here he is with his favorite WMD, the Sawzall.....the 65 year old metal spent a few blades, heh heh....

End of the day, and the Buick is now safely in the garage. The entire front end is now unbolted and all the linkage disconnected so the inline 8 and it's crashbox trans can hoist out without a fuss. Storage space is at a premium so everything is just sitting in it's normal location. Despite claiming to be tired Hip manages to run from the camera just as I hit the button. :p

More later as progress is made!

Ok, it's really not my decision whether i get to run the S/8, because he bought 3 Buicks to build one stock one, and it just so happens that the motor is for his. I would like to run one if i had a chance, but then again if the S/8's gotta go, iv got a few others options that i already own, so no more money out of pocket trying to be correct.

Thanks for the correction moparsled, it was pretty late when i did that thread.

That is a beautiful car, you got yourself a good start on a project there. A nice big buick V8 would look real nice under that hood, what powertrain do you have planned for it?

    Yeah, "Damn Hip's:D
Iv still got them all "Plowboy". The "53 chev" is out at Doc F's garage almost an hour away, so i use it as an excuse to go visit him once or twice a month.
The 41 chop truck is in my side yard and i need
a frame for it before i get going on the rest of the mock-up.
The "59 truck" , if you look in the picture of my garage
closely you'll see it liturally buried beneath, like "hotrodladycrusr" said (being kind) "stuff". Quick story behind this. Im different than most of my niegbors, who as soon as they get home from work dissaper into there houses and don't come back out till work the next day, thus, im not very well liked, specially when i get the grinder and saw-zall going. They turned me in for building and selling cars which i do build but rearly sell. the citys been watchin me now for around 5 years and they issue me petty citations every now and then per the outraged nieborhood.
So they said no car parts outside the dwelling (my garage) , and thats why its completely full!
Forgot , one last project that made the buying of the
41 possable. I did sell my 59 panel truck.
So i guess to answer your question "Plowboy",
i guess i didn't have enough aggrevation in my life.

I feel sorry for your desk.;)

Thanks "Oldsguy". I actually have 3 options for power plants. What do you guys think. Iv gotta 455 early olds, a 454 chev, and a 500 Caddy. Im leaning towards the caddy cause with some early speed parts dressing it up i think it might look right at home, and it will deffinatly motivate it!:D Oh it does come with a good running 1980 350 buick motor with a brain box, but im not useing it, and i will sell it cheap!!! ;)

What a difference a few days makes,(in my gararge anyway). hotrodladycrusr, you thought it looked bad before? This is five days later, but its common in my garage, Its said by my friends that have seen it on a daily basis that it "ebbs with the tides", Nice drift metal hunh? The prior owner came last night and we pulled the S/8 out and he dropped the 305/350 off to me.
It was around 10:00 when he left last
so i blew off trying to do any aranging and just piled it all in, cause i don't need my neibors crying bloody murder to the heat again. Since this is turkey day it wont get done till tomorrow, but i assure you by the weekend it will have all washed back out to sea. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!;)

Its been sitting there untouched forever it looks like, and now im trying to find the owner of it. This one makes mine look like a train wreck, its all there!:D
