My birthday was back in July and the wife was complaining that I am too hard to buy for. She says I have every tool known to man, she does not know what parts to buy for my 51 Burb, so I say to her, "Well you can buy me a Cabover" She says, "If you can find one, buy it" So I do. First I have to drive to Edmonton for the weekend for my Dad's 80th birthday, Come home Sunday afternoon, hook up the truck and trailer, pack a new suitcase for the trip. Head on down the highway Sunday night. Made it to Coeur d' Alene around midnight. Monday morning meet a guy and buy a LEER canopy for my truck for $50 (deal of the week). Head over to Spalding auto wreckers and pick up a 64 Nova Wagon for a buddy in Chilliwack. Load it on the trailer and head up to Deer Park. Buy a gravity go-kart for another buddy, and an aluminum belly tank for me. Then its off to Burlington WA, via Wenatchee to drop the Nova wagon. Swap lies and have lunch with buddies Ron and George, load the wagon on his trailer and its off to Puyallup to pick up the new COE. Managed to take in the poker run and garage tour Thursday, and the Greedy Guys show on Friday. Breakfast with friends Saturday morning and then off to Kalispell so that I could take up most of Scott's day by getting him to help me pull the body off the COE. That is another long stupid story of bureaucracy and red tape. Headed for home, had a quick stop for a swim and cool down in ****ey lake before heading back across the border and home with my new treasure. See http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8023530&postcount=2922 for pictures, because I am too lazy to repost here. 1900 miles, lots of laughs and smiles, cant wait to start working on it. Will start a build thread when we get er going,
To all concerned, I did drop in to do a visual inspection and verify that the cabover is really in B-Bops yard!!!!!
Ha ha Kelly, yeah, she has both grills. Verified and approved by Blaaze. Why does nobody believe me? I gotta get the burb at least rolling, then I will be going full tilt on the COE
I believe you Barry.........still got the skinned knuckles to prove it too!! Your new toy is too cool!
Wow, Thats a hell of a week! Oh Ya, Happy Birthday! Doesn't look like you would be hard to shop for, I shop for that kind of stuff every day. lol
