I just bought a 59 Ranchero,, and wonder IF anyone knows (for sure!) IF a 59 Skyliner & Sunliner winshield IS about 1½" lower that all the other 59 cars (not T-bird) I ´ve got this "plan" since all the gl*** needs to be replaced ,, why not make a modest chop while I´m at it and use the Skyliner& Sunliner winshield IF they actually are lower ?,, all the other gl*** are flat and will be made new by my gl***guy. Anyone who has done this?? Chopped a 59 Ranchero that is. Any input is welcome !! ;)

Yes very interesting to read,, thanks !! So is anyone a 59 Skyliner or Sunliner owner on here ,, I´d appresiate a mesurement on windshield height on such car. OR if someone have any kind of "windshield gl*** crossreference book" ,, to see if all the Ford (+Edsel) cars used same front gl*** in 1959 ? (exept T-Bird + trucks)

I´m set to order a new winshield soon ,, and thought I´d ask one more time here before I order a stock Ranchero one. 1001 thanks in advance!

I have a '59 Sunliner. I currently have the chrome trim off the windshield right now so it would be a good time to get a few measurements. Probably couldn't make it happen until Friday night though.

Thank YOU!! Just a simpel measurement of "gl*** opening" inside rubber to rubber at wiper would be great. :)

I just took a measure,, windshield of my Ranchero is 20" inside of the rubber edge,, straight up at wiper.

Pretty much that entire front stretch of windshield measures 18 and 3/4s inside of the rubber edge.
