Just thought I'd share a few pics of the 302 I've been working on for my '54. Nothing too special internally, just stock rebuilt block and some slightly improved stock heads. Most of the upgrades are cosmetic. Running a Tuff Stuff water pump, alternator, and power steering pump. The pump is a GM Saginaw style using the Boregeson bracket set-up. Has an Edelbrock Performer intake, Edelbrock 1406 600CFM carb, and Edelbrock cl***ic series valve covers. I tried to hide the PCV system the best I could so as not to ruin those covers. The pump and alternator were a PITA to install thanks to the heads I have that have the larger 5/8" holes where the thermactor ports are. I had to install special thermactor plugs that were a real pain to put in, but it turned out well. Hopefully I'll get a chance to install it this winter.
Really looks good! since you are running the early (p*** side) water pump you may as well add these:http://www.ebay.com/itm/SB-Ford-Chr...Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c2b27400e&vxp=mtr to match the alternator and power steering.
I kinda like the contrast between the blue and the stainless bolts and chrome. In fact I was even thinking about painting the alternator and pump pulleys as well when I paint the pump bracket, but I may just leave them alone for now.
Other reason I mentioned those is the dual groove pulleys are for 289-302's with power steering, unless my eyes deceive me it looks like you may have to shorten the spacers on the p/s pump to align the belts.
Currently I have it set up so the inner belt runs the water pump and alternator and the outer belt runs the pump.
I would like to find some of those valve covers to fit a 351 cleveland. is there a brace missing on the P/S pump setup, wont live long like that. Larry
Nope, that's all borgeson gives ya, but it's pretty stout. I need to get shorter bolts anyway, so when I do I'll probably upgrade to grade 8.
