Not sure that this is the the right place but I thought I would say hello to all. My name is Scott and I work as a mechanic in Obetz Ohio. I love all kinds of cars I have owned many as well, and many still on the list to be bought. Any way Our company buys repairs and sells "muscle" cars. I am just starting to restore a 69 cobra (428cj car) I was told that here might be a good place to find the correct parts and info to do the job. I have been reading the board for a few months and decided to sign up.

    Happy New Year Scott...

The HAMB is a board for Customs and pre 49 Hot Rods but you might get lucky I guess and have someone be able to help you. Lots of our members are into several areas of the hobby.
Surely there must be a message board or site that caters directly to the type of buildup your doing?

    69 Shelby Mustang GT500?

Shouldn't be hard to find info on that! They're documented to death!!!

While reading the posts here for a few months, how many articles and threads have you read about muscle-cars? Just curious... I must have missed them.

Well I understand the point of this board and I am looking for such a vechicle for myself. However I got the feeling from reading the add section that like me, many of the users of this board are into many type of cars as well as have access to parts of the same. I also put muscle is Quotes becouse I Buy any car that has apeal to people weither it is a year old f-body or a t-bucket or rar ride or a lead slead.

I am sure people have read my list of cars and yes they are most cars of the late sixties. Mostly becouse I live in Ohio and don't have access to rust free bodies to begin a build with.

Hackerbill Thank you for the nice welcome The car is a a 69 Cobra, It is the same body as a Torino but they called it the cobra when thr 428 cj was installed

Welcome to the site, but I'd keep the muscle car stuff to myself if I were you. Not to sound like some kind of expert but a COBRA was a two seat sports car.:)

yes but a torino in 69 with a 428 is also called one as stated on the title. but that is not the point, I just came here to meet cool people and track down parts I need.

Welcome, and ignore the smart remarks.

If you keep your post content in line with the board, you'll do fine. You mentioned you've been lurking for awhile, so I'm sure you know the lay of the land around here.

There's a huge number of fellows on here who have very diverse intrests and specialties. My main specialty is in 67-72 GM trucks, but I talk about traditional stuff on here.

Ahhhhh...Cobra-JET! The "title" might have run outta room to spell it right out.
    Strong engine.
I HAD a dismantled 429 CJ (different engine) from a 70 Torino but like a stupid idiot I sold it cheap as dirt! (Convinced myself I was outta the game because I gave up late models, PRO-Streets etc...little did I know!)
Man, wish I had it again and the low mile 460 engine I also had back then to combine and toss into the Coupe. BOTH cost me approx $250.00...with a perfect C6 trans!
I'd still be a FORD guy for sure...

IF your into older TRADITIONAL Hot Rods this board will be of use to you. We sneak in a little Off-Topic stuff now and then, but really like to keep it straight to cut down on the clutter.

    Catch ya later!

What is the name of the place that you work? Is it of US40? If you are looking to buy an old car this is the place to do it.

Wasn't the 69 Shelby GT350/500 also referred to as a Cobra? It did have Shelby's Cobra logo on the rear pillar, and a rear seat...

No, I don't think it really was...but that doesn't stop most people from calling them Cobras anyway.
You had GT350's...GT500's and the GT500 KR from Shelby.
FORD horned in on the Cobra name to use it on their Performance engines.
Considering the hype the Shelby Cobra had...I would too!!! :D
