I am dropping my front end, I have rubber bushings that are dry rotted. Is there a complete kit for the 55 front suspension (be it rubber or poly). Im going to be in there I might as well do it all. Thanks
there are complete kits on ebay, but there made in china. i bought the bushings i needed for my 55 in moog from oreillys not as a kit.
JobLot Auto, Macs, Dennis Carpenter, Tee-Bird Products, Concours Parts and Ford Road Parts Store all stock the rubbers you need. Regards
Scratch Dennis Carpenter off the list they are outsourcing rubber products from China, lots to read here https://www.google.com/search?q=Den...AC-veigKS_IDIBw&start=0&sa=N&biw=1143&bih=634 I did an earlier post regarding this and referred to a build where the rubber suspension parts were junk in about 6 months,so many companies are outsourcing you need to ask first before you buy. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=711723
Jeff It's a sign of the times. Everything is outsourced nowadays. it is the exception these days to find something not made in China. Regards
I would probably buy a cheap bushing kit with all of the parts you'll need, and then just try and replace the rubber bits with urethane parts by matching up the sizes on the energy suspension website. Personally, I can't see the sense in buying the "premium" insanely expensive parts from the catalogs when they're the same Chinese junk as you can get on eBay for half the price. Just switch what you can to urethane and use a good quality grease and you'll probably be just fine.
