I finally got my stupid digicam to work so I can do this to celibrate my 1,000th post. What we have here is an original Decca Records EP #DE2168. For those who don't know, an EP has four tunes on it and is the size of a standard 45 RPM record. The tunes are: Shake Rattle & Roll, A.B.C. Boogie, Rock Around the Clock and Thirteen Women. The record is in darn good shape, concidering that it's about 50 years old. It has Bill & the Boys riding in a hot rod. The cover is also in real nice shape. It has a seal from Wallach's Music City. I saw a copy go for $75 at Rockaway Records in Silver Lake 10 years ago, so make the HAMB proud and bid early and often. As usual, when Ryan tells me the money's been recieved, I'll ship it off. USPS. I've never done this before, so if I have not done it right, let me know right away. Auction will close 1-7-06
Tell ya what, Spike. Send Ryan $5 and I'll send ya a scratched up 45 of Stand by me by Ben E. King on Atco. Pretty decent wall art.
Just bumpin' it back to the first page 'til it gets a sticky. PS when this closes, I'll include a pretty racy Armando Huerta pin up girl sticker with a big breasted girl waving a checkered flag. To see it, go to: http://.stickerblvd.com/ Click on ARTISTS then Armando Huerta. It's called Fast Lane. Nothing on the CD player right now, gonna go check the ol' stacks o' wax.
Auctions usually only run for a week....If I am reading this correctly, you have it for a month? And BTTT for a sticky.
This is my FIRST ever auction. If I should run it for a week, what is the right way to change it? Tweeeeet! Moderators, a little help here, please. And, thanks A32 Flathead. I just want to give back to the HAMB, but I want to do it right. Phil
I met the first bass player from the comets a few months back. He even got up on stage and played a few songs with the rock-a-billy band that was playing. Good luck with the auction.
It was pointed out to me that auctions usually run for one week. I had originally posted to go for a month. If you will notice, I have changed it to close 1-7-06. Sorry for any inconvenience. I also posted that I would include a sticker with the EP. Actually, if the winner would prefer any other sticker on the website, that will be fine. http://stickerblvd.com/ Thanks. I'm glad that I can do a little for the HAMB, it's been a pretty cool place for me. Phil listenin' to: Old Crow Medicine Show
I saw those guys at VLV this year. They definetely out rocked the younger bands. If you get to see them DO NOT MISS IT! Phil
Marshal Lytle had jumped up and played some songs with my band once..It was great...got to play Rock Around the Clock...shake rattle and roll and Rock the Joint. He was singing and slappin that bass. Killer time. Tim MBL
we played a casino for new years and the comets were in the next room, I hadn't seen them since there initial reunion in '94 and the ROCKED ASS AGAIN! They are as tight and funny as ever, Dick Richards is 84 and beat the shit outta the skins, see them now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ditto. I saw them at the Montreal Rockabilly weekender this year and they KICKED ASS. I got to drive them around and have dinner, they were nice and funny as hell. Had some trouble climbing in and out of the van but when they hit the stage it was like they were teenagers again. The crowd loved it.
