    I know you guys warned me but holy **** is a flatty expensive to rebuild! I could buy a car that runs and drives for what it costs to rebuild this awesome engine.
    I need some encouragement....or win the Lotto...whichever comes first!

    Never give up! We do this for love. When we were kids, we did this because it was cheap. Guess what! It's not cheap anymore!!!

    flat heads are very cool and have a sound of there own, they are also very expensive to build. you wont see one in every car at a show unlike a sbc. you could build something this cool. i think he said it was 306ci. merc crank. oringinal vintage blower. sounded and ran killer.

    I love my Flatty for all its faults its worth it when someone asks you if you got a sbc in it and you pop the hood and show them that awesome flathead. worth it all . And Ole lady mad is right nothing sounds like a flatty

    Oh don't worry. I know flatties are the coolest ,most unique sounding engines out there. I just started looking into getting the parts I need,and had some sticker shock.
    I found a 1964 ford econoline truck that kind of fell into my lap and am mulling over messing with that until I find some part for the Flathead.

    now your thinking like me, i now have 4 old ones theres is never enough money for more than 1 if you dont have money for 1. i know from experience.
