Hello, I joined the HAMB a few months ago and as I was reading posts/threads found this group, and it looks like the place to be. I'm not very good at talking about myself, but here's a little bit about me: Currently, I own a 53 Mainline that I'm dropping a 292 Y-Block into. In the past I grew up around nothing but old Fords, going to races and car shows with my pops. He had a 46 sedan(the car I learned to drive a stick shift in), 52 Mainline and a 65 Mustang. I've never owned any other kind of auto. My first vehicle was a 1951 F-1 and my second was a 1950 F-1. Sadly, when the Midwest flooded in 08' my 50', my father's 52 ' and 46' we pretty much totaled out and had to be sold. However, now that I've graduated school and have a job again, I got my self a new project to grind the rust off of and bring back to life...

Hi Everyone, thank you! I'll post some pictures soon. I'm trying my best to do***ent everything as I go, so I can make a s**** book or a slide show. Jeff, thank you for the link, wish I would have seen that before I hunted down the actual 1956 car craft and paid for it; however, it is pretty cool reading all of the old articles and seeing the prices. I have a 292 that I stripped all the way down, we tried setting it in place yesterday to see exactly where the mounts are going to sit, but the drag link is in the way and definitely going to hit the pan. It looks like I'm going to have to modify it like in the Car Craft mag for sure, or pray I get lucky soon and find one of the old Hurst links. I thought with a rear sump pan I would have clearance of this and the cross-member, but it hit, and the drag link has been giving me fits as I'm trying to remove it. This car was totaled at one time. It looks like I've got my work cut out for me. She's rough, but I'm very determined. I want to road trip it down to Speed Week this year!
