I know we have beat this horse a few times. I am looking at the JAMCO mounts, and the SPEEDWAY mounts (they look kind of like an after thought to me what with the braces and all) My big question is the the photo, do the headers I have on now look like they are gong to work? Also does the T5, (or is it a 10?) trans work in the space I have

Lanny,do not understand what you mean about braces scroll down to the post "engine mounts" on 11/11/12 and look up the part numbers from Speedway I provided.DO NOT buy from JAMCO! Read This:https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&newwindow=1&tbo=d&site=&source=hp&q=jamco+suspension+complaints&oq=Jamco+complaints&gs_l=hp.1.0.0i8.3538.12322.0.15808.18.17.1.0.0.0.193.2371.0j17.17.0.les%3B..0.0...1c.1.BL2XH7Vw5-k pack a lunch first there is plenty to read about the horrible customer service probably several hundred here on the HAMB alone. Also be sure to check this out this with the mounts pictured: http://static.speedwaymotors.com/pdf/135-3294.pdf

On that last pdf I referred to only the picture on the left applies, with a C4 or AOD it will sit on the factory crossmember.Since you are going manual trans this has worked in the past, put the engine and transmission in as a unit, loosely bolt the trans mount in place with the engine ***y' still on the cherry picker lower it down slowly and with the new mounts attached lower in place to mark the position of the frame adapters.Headers should be OK,is this the part number posted in the "FAQ sticky"?

Thanks for the heads up on JAMCO. Does the speedway kit come with what shown in your attachment? The rubber mounts, the connecting plate, and the frame brackets? I searched the parts number and it showed the frame brackets only.

The part numbers are in the post I referred to on 11/11 by tillerman43 Engine mounts (help) you need all three Speedway part numbers to seal the deal, here they are: 1353764,1353294 and 7209314,you do need to run an electric fuel pump on 49-53 Fords I used a Carter P4594, the Holleys are NOISY been there done that.Amazon has a deal on the fuel pump http://www.amazon.com/Carter-P4594-Electric-Fuel-Pump/dp/B000CIQ5E0/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top beats Summit & Jeg's by $20 and free shipping.

Seem to remember reading on the main board JAMCO is no longer in business. For my money anything they made was/is made just as good or better by Fatman. And if you've read the JAMCO posts you probably are looking for a different source anyway.

Before I got the Carter I had a Holley red pump it lasted about 3 hours because the POS FRAM filter with a paper element got ****ed into the pump, get one like this to put ahead of the pump http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-645060/overview/ it has a bronze element you can take out and clean you can get them locally at O'Reilly and Autozone.

Lanny I ordered those parts from speedway that Jeff suggested, they looked and felt great but I could not use them. The guy I got the 302 motor from told me it came out of a 91 mustang but actually it's from a 90 which speedway's web site said not for a 1990 mustang. Oh well, anyway I ordered the kit from Butch's and it should be here soon. If you would like I can give you some input when I receive the parts.

Both years should have the E7TE heads and should be tapped to accept the mounts, even all aftermarket heads are tapped. What is the difference? I know other swaps that used a '90 long block.Could not find a note on Speedway.:confused: E7TE's were used from 1987-93 except the Cobra with GT heads which are also tapped.

I don't know what year mine is. I'll check the heads before I order to make sure they will except the speedway kit. Would be interested in see how the Butch's kit works. Is there anything on the block that can tell what year it is?

Ford did some goofy stuff with block codes after 1985 when they went roller cam blocks, this is a good site for info www.sbftech.com Warning! These guys are hard core Ford so read the part in the beginners section on heads before you post,1985-86 Fords used a really ****py head E6TE the 1987-93 E7TE heads are better and there is tons of info about upgrading them. Member tillerman43 will be posting pictures of his install with the Butches kit so stand by,there will be a link saved in the "sticky FAQ" The issue with his heads was the "mickey mouse" air ports for emissions cast in some heads that caused the problem with mounting them.More info to follow: http://forums.corral.net/forums/5-0-5-8-engine-tech/1305545-how-can-i-tell-what-year-5-0-engine.html Listed below is a Jeg's part after the holiday I will contact Speedways tech to see if this will make a difference.

I posted those plugs in the FAQ page a while back when I ran in to the same issue; they're called thermactor plugs. The dealership by me wanted $20 EACH, but I ended up getting a set of 4 from Summit for pretty cheap. They are a pain in the *** to install, especially if you don't chase the threads, and I would say pretty much impossible to remove.

I went to the local hardware store and bought the plugs, less than $5 for both if I remember right. I even put them in with the engine in the car.

I sent Butch an email telling him about our Group and asked some questions and suggested they look into becoming an Alliance vendor since JAMCO has been removed by Ryan due to the huge number of customer complaints from poor service.

UPDATE: Got a reply from Terry at Butch's Cool Stuff they are already an Alliance Vendor the kit that you guys ordered 2505 CP has been around since 1992 over 200 sold they are not aware of any issues with the manual fuel pump not clearing as is the case with the Speedway parts.Terry also stated that they would be very interested in seeing the pictures of the install so as soon as you guys post I'll send him a link.

Carlos,as per the "sticky" file 1952-53 swaps with a 302/5.0 use a HEDMAN Header 88420 with a stock steering box with C4 or AOD transmissions.
