OK so I've done the search and it turned up a few but I'm hungry for more ,what you got in your garage, on your driveway, on your Hard Drive. Thanks.
Ask Sweats on here. He has a 46 that was chopped by Willie Wilde. Incredible lines and a great car. One of the nicest chops and cars that I have seen in a long time. Larry

this is one someone on here posted that was reported to be mostly hidden in the garage - it is *****in
Thanks for the kind words Larry! give me a call sometime its been too long. Anyway heres mine, its a little differant now I just put in a 4in axle and smaller tires, will post them someday..haha
Mine certantly isnt done, but the chop is almost complete. Its in a shop about an hour and a half from me for the chop, and Im thrilled with the job the guy has been doing. I think he really got the lines and curves very well. ll have it back in about a month. Im gonna do the finnish body work on the chop, french 53 buick headlights in, remove the 54 chevy grill that I added but dont like, go with a 54 pontiac floating grill bar, and french some 49-50 ford taillights into the rear, using the existing body line on the rear fenders to extend into the edge of the taillights. Also new wheels a WWW tires. I also have an air ride system to install. Its going to be satin black with gold scallops, and hopefully most of that done by mid summer. Next season I will do the interior, as im just about tapped for now. I love the custom 46-48's. Dont get me wrong, I love shoeboxes, mercs, chevy's, and hope to build a shoebox someday, but something about the fat fendered customs really does it for me.
Looking very nice Chads, do you know how much was taken out? Sweats, you got any more pics of that, me likey!
Its about 4 inches in the back, and 4.5 in the front. Bill Lang of Hot Rod Fabrication in Denton, MD did the work. He layed down the back the rear window before doing anything to the A or B pillars. The he lowered the roof from there, helping him get the whole flow where it needed to be. He cut the A and B pillars equaly, put the roof back on, and the kept removing small amounts from the A pillars, leaning the front foreward untill the curv of the roof looked right. The result is not a raked foreward "street rod" look, but a really nice flow to the roof line. The fat fendered fords dont really work well IMHO when the roof is lower in the back than the front. Sometimes it works, often it doesnt. From the center point (if standing on the side of the car) both sides have about the same angle (leaning toward the rear window, and the windshield).
Sweats..........................Man, that car is the ****. I had forgotten how perfect the chop is.................I have to chop mine now...............Maybe a hardtop.......................... Did I mention that your car is rad!?!?!?!
Hey Sweats, your ford looks great lower. Are you going to lower the rear some more? Maybe c-notch the frame? What tires are you running now?
Yo Lloyd, hey I emailed you back and you never sent any more pics of your shoebox!. Anyway it will be lower sometime this year, I have a reversed spring on 6in shackels out back and it ****s. So I am gonna raise the crossmember and c-notch the frame with stock shackles and a stock spring. As for tires I went from a 710-15 to a 640-15 that alone gave me almost 3in. If I dont see you before, see you at the Rumblers show!
Here is a link to a thread posted a while ago with nothing but '41s http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48422 Here's my '41
Kind of it's been available for a while but I don't think I can resist it any more. I was trying to avoid it so I didn't go off the boil on the Volvo but you know how it goes...
couple of shots showing the 49-50 Ford taillites in my 41. For those of you who know Bob K that's him next to the cpe, shows how low it sits
The 49-50 taillights look good guys. I have a slightly different approach in the plans, its hard to describe, but they will mount higher in the fender. I was gonna go with 59 caddy's, but they are getting a bit cliche, and hopefully I'll dig the plan I have in my head as much when its put on the car.
