Our idiotic local news staff came out and did a story and the mullet headed redneck they interview is my land lord who was holding a beer the whole time. They said he will not be held accountable because cooking outside during a burn ban is not illegal.

You need to research that more. I'm a paid full time firefighter in the mid-cities and a volunteer out where I live on my days off. I live west of Ft Worth, and we're under the burn ban too. The ban phrohibits any burning outside that is not in a container that completely captures all residue. We run calls everyday out in the country on stuff just like this called "burn ban violations". It's a ticketable offense.

Why do they always pick the one person who will embarass himself and everyone he knows to be interviewed? I watched the new the other night and they were talking to some guy about an accident and he could barely say a word without throwing in an "umm" and a pause.

Around here, it's always a fat woman in a mumu standing in front of a house trailer.

Must be nice havin' a moron for a neighbor. Glad it worked out OK. Hope the moron's being billed for the firefighting cost. That's what they do where I live when someone does something stupid like this. I heard on TV they'd banned all outdoor fires down in TX and OK because of the fire danger. We have that problem where I live in the summer months but right now we're not the West Coast, we're the Wet Coast!

The dumbass gene pool seems to be everywhere. Here ,during our fire season when it was particulary dry and there had already been several serious fires that burned several homes, a dumbass thought it would be a good idea to use a flaregun to scare away a bear that was a hundred yards away on a hillside. Luckily the air tankers were already in the area and got on it right away. He got one of those expensive civic land clearing commendations.
