    Hello!
I am from Austin, TX and would like to join the group! I have a 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Interceptor Special, but I just call her Alison. This is going to be my first Ford build and might need some help along the way, but im usually pretty good about taking things and putting things back together. But things like what part will work from what year is where I get all messed up at. I have started to break it down and see what im really working with and have found some things that make me question certain applications.
Bought the car from the original owner and it seemed as if they just drove it into the ground. She has been through Hail storms, dust storms, rat packs and god knows what else. But she is now in my hands and I plan on giving her a nice make over. I am going to try and make it a little like Johnny Taylor's custom with a twist of my own. So if anyone has some good info about his car it will be much appreciated in my build! I at least want to get her on the road by July 1st (first baby is due then) and not really care too much about how it looks on the outside. I just want to get this lady back to being a dependable daily driver and some thing that would be safe for my child to ride in later on. So thats my story and nice to meet you all!

Thanks guys! Well first I plan to rebuild the suspension, make sure everything is going in the same direction :) Then work on smoothing out the firewall a little and lowering it a bit to get a nice stance. After that I plan on moving to the motor, I love the 332 that is in it, but I want to get something that I can get parts for easily if I need to (same day if needed) so thats where im kinda at a stand still. But hey for $500 I dont think the car is that bad ;) Also thanks Stig for the helpful advice on uploading the pics!

$500, I paid about 15 times that for mine and it had rust out all along the bottom, good deal.

Dont get me wrong this one has some pretty bad rust spots and I can tell that the back p***enger side has had some body work done. So after the motor gets dropped in I am going to take care of the rocker panels, and everything else. Lots of patch panels are gonna be needed for her.

Not alot really happened this weekend, just gave her a bath. 50+ years of dirt, rat turds, grease, and god knows what else is kinda hard to get off. Was thinking about getting acouple of 2X4's on top of jack stands to take the shell off of the frame and cleaning the rest of the frame and getting it powder coated. When you guys pull the shell from the frame do you take out everything from the cab or just leave it in? Any suggestions on doing this step would be much appreciated!
