Nice to find a group just for 52-59 Fords.I'm a 66yr old that still plays with cars, my son told me about this group. I curently have a real clean 55 Customline, has the 6 in it a good runner. for the last year I've thought about putting a rebuilt Olds 455 I have in it [sleeper] Has anyone done this? How did you do motor mounts? How is the oil pan for clearence.Any help & pic's be appreciated

Welcome,I can see some fabrication in store for that swap.In doing a GM to GM swap you can usually swap from a big block Chev to big block Caddy,Pontiac or Olds with slight mods of the mounts so that being the case this is what you would work with:http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Chevy-Weld-In-Motor-Mounts,1906.html The other problem is the oil pan,54-59 Fords are front sump the GM's are rear sump,it is possible a Tornado oil pan may work as they have a center notch that cleared the axles shafts.Anyway take some Pix to post if you tackle it.
