    hi
have any. of you guys had dealings with this company ?
    https://fiftiesfords.com/Ford_Parts.php
i ask as im a bit worried now as i was looking for a steering wheel for my 55 mainline and as im in England it was hard to find one however they came back to me with a price of $300.00 for a restored wheel with $60.00 for post...great i thought ...so i paid for the wheel and postage on the 4 march with paypal and waited for my parcel as its usually 7 days via usps but after 2 weeks no parcel . i then contacted them to get a tracking number so i could chase it down and they got back to me to say it had been sent on the 18 march but no tracking number ..i was a bit worried about this as it was a full 2 weeks after i had paid but decided it was worth the wait for a restored wheel so i waited ....nothing ..so i got onto the postal service here in England who said they had no record of any parcel and that i should have a trcking number which is given to any international parcel so 2 days ago i sent another e mail to them to ask about the number and they sent me a mesage saying it was more than likley held up in customs and they then gave me a tracking number ..however when i checked the number it shows my parcel still in santa clara California as it was only posted on the 2nd April a full month after i had paid and 2 weeks after they said they had sent it .. is this usual ?
the reason im so pi*s*d about this is im now having to spend good money on a ****py grant wheel and boss to drive my brothers new wife to her wedding in 4 days and im wondering whether i should be contacting paypal about it .
    any thoughts ?

Don't know anything about them but I'd question any Ford place using a Plymouth steering wheel for their banner.

Sitting on an order for close to a month without telling you sounds rather chickensheet, but if the tracking number is valid and the package is indeed in route to you, ***uming the wheel is as decribed once you receive it, there is probably not much you can do. Some credit cards have a policy regarding how much time can p*** once charged before shipping, but have never heard of anything similar with PayPal. It may not hurt to enquire.

I do***ent EVERYTHING I do online as far as purchases for this very reason. Personally, I'd contact PayPal and tell them about it now instead of waiting another 7 days only to find out that it's still sitting in Santa Clara. They freeze the accounts they get complaints on.

Contact Paypal now, do not procrastinate there is no excuse for sitting on your merchandise and not shipping it. As a business it can be picked up by USPS and the postage and customs paperwork can be done online in minutes.I just sent a Chilton Manual to Australia it took me about 5 minutes to do the paperwork online the shipping box was free at the Post office and I paid shipping online and dropped it off at the Post office it only took Paypal 3 days over the weekend to clear my bank transfer.

How do you pay Paypal? If you use a credit card you should be billed through the card. Don't know about the laws in England, but here the credit card company will go back to the seller upon complaint by the buyer.

PayPal although more expensive than just using a credit is much safer online. It has close affiliation with eBay and is their preferred method of payment. It is always a worry when you make an international payment and person you are wanting to pay asks for the CSV number on the back of the card. PayPal will pay to any valid email account that has been verified and is as simple as clicking a ****on. Western Union has lifted its game nowadays wanting identification from the people who collect payments but it is more expensive the Paypal. We can't send international money orders from Oz anymore.
As others have said, I would begin a dispute case with PayPal. You will then be covered either way. Truth be known the firm didn't have a wheel when you paid and rejuvenated one to suit your order.

I am guessing that the company didn't restore a steering wheel untill it was paid for.

When he contacted me he said he had a white wheel just been restored and although i wanted a black one i bought it because i needed it urgent and was happy to have it painted when it got here to England and if it is a case of restoring it after payment why not tell me that instead of lying about when it was sent ?

I feel your pain. If it makes you feel any better, my white 55 wheel has cracks in all the same places.

I would be sending those same pictures to Paypal, and also to the BBB in "fiftiesfords" area. There is no excuse for charging that much for that kind of "quality"

I do alot with paypal. Try contacting the company if they ignore you or say they can't do anything, report it to paypal. KEEP ALL YOUR EMAILS (you will need to send them to paypal) also keep copies of the advertising, original purchase receipt etc that says it was a fully restored wheel.

Once you report it to paypal, paypal will most likely Freeze there account so they can't use it. Then you will have to go through the long process of stating your case, sending in your copies of the emails etc etc....it takes a few weeks but if paypal decides in your favor you will have to send the wheel back to them, provide tracking #s and all that jazz to paypal and then they will be forced to refund the money.

well atleast you would get some of your money back, either way report him to the BBB, and make sure to stress every where you can for others not to use him, it will hurt him in the long run
