    Hello all,
The carb came off my in car 239 Y and it is a 71-70 truck 1.21 Venturi.
So, If I rebuild this and put it back on the stock 239 Y will it be too big and cause problems?
I am ***uming the stock carb was a 1.08 Venturi 2100?

No history on how or if it ran with this carb. I was told it ran well in the 80s.

Probably will run fine with a rebuild, but what is of concern is the intake manifold itself the later intakes with 2100 flange would have larger ports than the '54 heads and may not seal.It may be best to check the codes on the heads and intake to see how they match up http://www.y-blocksforever.com/index.html

Thanks. I didnt even think that it was a replacement manifold. Thought the 2100 is a direct replacement for whatever carb was on there. Old fords are new to me. I have a pic of what I am dealing with but it looks like I have to have a picture hosted to post it.I will go and read the site instructions and return.

    The 1.21 is too big for a 239. The 260 SBF had a 1.01 and the 292 2bbl I think ran a 1.08.

That is not a 239 intake, and those are not 239 rocker adjusters. You may have to remove a head and measure bore and stroke to know what you really have, or it could be a modernized 239. If the motor ran good with a carb off a 272 or 292, one could ***ume that's what the motor really is. Try to find a casing number and check dates.

Yeah, those are for sure later rocker lock nuts, and judging by the ford engine blue, it could be anything. Be happy that it might not be an EBU or EBY. I bet its going to be like an EDBE or something of that ilk, with that intake.

Thanks everyone, I have had it for a short time and have a long distance relationship with it til I can save up to get it shipped. My friend is picking away at it for me. I will try to get some #s off it.

Partial # off intake is -9425-B

    So I guess that equals 1955 272 2V

    That's all for now
