I have just about completed fabricating repairs on my lower 'A' collumns and wonder what size holes to use to route the wiring thru. Should I use the original size hole and grommets/hardware or something different. I appreciate your comments and suggestions.

I would leave them sealed up. All the wires in my car are run under the carpet inside.

From factory ,they are run down the transmission tunnel under the carpet and go down the left (drivers side) to the trunk.

X 3 on under the carpet. My old ones were run just like yours, down the rocker panel. If your set on running them the same way, a 5/8" hole should be plenty big enough with a grommet. Looks good btw!

My 54 (original car) has the wires running along the engine side of the firewall and thru the lower hole in the A column, then thru the rockers to the rear of the car. Not sure what the upper hole is used for, mine just has a rubber plug.

My original '54 wires go out through a grommet on the driver's side, above where the kick panel would be, then down to the lower hole in your picture and through the rocker to the trunk. Not sure if the upper hole is there on my car or not - if so, it's plugged like 38chief's.

I just put new rocker panels on my 53 vic and I put a 3/4 in emt full length so I can run my wires in metal conduit to the trunk. I will seal both ends with duct seal. I tack welded the conduit to body metal, put bushing on both ends.

Ok thanks for all the input. Sounds like a variety of ways to do it.
