The problem is the bell housing- the t5 input is longer than the Toploader so you need to use the t5 bell. I did this eons ago with a kit that had you re-drill the t5 bell to add the old-style fork pivot. Perhaps try to make a template off of the old Toploader bell to add the fork fulcrum to the t5 bell? It's be the Same linkage then as long as there wasn't anything hanging off of the t5 bell to get in the way....

Not sure why he doesn't ant to change to a cable set up, I've owned dozens of FOX-body 5 speed cars with the cable design and even put the clutch pedal ***embly out of one in my Dad's 40 Ford DeLuxe Coupe (5.0-5spd set up) and it was very simple!! Plus, he would have the option of a firewall adjustment when/if his cable stretches.

Any clutch pedal set from a FOX body car will work under his dash with minimal effort. He needs to look for:
    79-93 Mustangs: V8, I6, V6 or 2.3, clutch pedals are the same
83-88 Thunderbird Turbo coupes (only way they were available with a stick)
79-86 Mercury Capri: just like Mustangs, any motor with a stick
    83-86 Cougar XR7 Turbo's (again, only with the 2.4 Turbo/5spd)
Any year Fairmont with a stick

Not trying to say he HAS to go this route, but I think it'd be alot easier in the long run.

This is very easy to do. You can use this kit and use the 4 speed bell housing and clutch linkage. The adapter plate included bolts between the T5 ****** and the 4 speed bell housing. This way the longer input shaft is not a problem and all factory linkage and clutch works perfect. The crossmember is available for the 1967 Mustang and includes the required yoke and mount.
