hello has anyone used a ranger frame or front clip for a52 or 53 ford customline i know the newer frames have ball joints which is easier to lower i would rather clip it with a ford rather than a s10 thanks for looking :D

I think a great swap would be from a late model Crown Vic. Seems to me sectioning the existing frame to accept the CV cross member wouldn't be any harder than replacing the complete clip. You get independent suspension, disk brakes, R&P steering and motor mounts for a late model sb. I really wanted to do this on my 54 but rebuilt the existing suspension and used Granada spindles for disk brakes and installed a cavalier r&p. Just my 2 cents worth, actually about what it's worth.

I haven't seen any with the ranger clip, only the S10. In fact, I've seen a post somewhere, where a guy does a step-by-step with a 53. I haven't had time to do a search for it or I would have posted a link to it for you. Pull a tape measure and see if the Ranger frame width is the same or close. I'm thinking that they may be a bit too narrow.
