Have the 312 and the merc-o in the car, cranked it today. Now I just have to figure out som wiring, like where the oil pressure switch sits on the block. .. and how to hook up the throttle and gear linkage. Big show coming up this weekend, but I'll have to hurry to make it there...
The oils pressure sending unit goes on the left (drivers side) lower part of the block in front of the oil filter. There is a line of about 4 plugs near the bottom of the block (oil galley). If I remember correctly, it goes in the second from the front.
Thanks, I didn't think of it before I put the y in... Found the temperature sender on the inside of the driver side head, but couldn't find the oil presure sender...
I must be the luckiest guy in the world! Went to the guy I got the engine and transmission from to pick up the shifter cables he had promised me for the merc-o. Then he gave me the hole shifter panel! 1 problem solved Now he wants me to make an offer on the entire project. Its a 57 Monterey with a 351M and a automatic trans of some kind (c6?). I dont know what its worth, cause there is not many around here in Norway. .. Anyone that could give me an estimate? It's a 4 door whit god body and fair interior, but the engine and trans must be put in and maked to fit...
Put in Aerostar spring on one side today, it raised the car about 1 and a half inch... And it sits a lot firmer than before. Doing the swap on the other side tomorrow. I think it will improve the driveability a lot, not laying on the quarter inch bump stop all the time...
All the linkage should be super easy, so long as you have the OE bellcrank for the FOM and the throttle linkage. If not, then its not as easy as bolting up the bell crank and putting everything back where it came from.
