It is said that the first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem. Okay, I admit it, I am a streetrodder. It’s not because I feel that billet rules or anything stupid like that. No, my problem is much more insidious, brothers, I was a streetrodder and didn’t even realize it.

It happened innocently enough, a post-’54 axle here, a modern fuse box there, then I started thinking about heavier stuff, disk brakes and, dare I say it, fibergl***.

    Those were dark days.

Sometimes things are revealed to me as if it was controlled by a rheostat, others as if by a bolt of lightning. I am thunderstruck, and verily, I saw the light, I saw the light, no more darkness, no more night. Now I’m so happy, no sorrow in sight, praise the Lord, I saw the light. (Thank you, Clinch Mtn. Boys)

Now that I am redeemed, does this mean I will make my C10 all ’62 and earlier?

    No.

It does mean however that the ’34 Chevy dashboard that I have left hanging in my garage will be used in a real traditional hotrod. Let the parts collecting begin, but this time it will need to be as much pre-’55 as humanly possible.

I have heard the gospel, and your errant brother is going back home…

That's cool, but please tell us you at least used lead instead of BONDO.

To use such filler is an unforgivable sin, my brother. You will be suffer fire and brimstone for all eternity...

More than likely... I have had a '54 chevy and a '27T, none of which I got to complete. You act like you know me, but do you?

What happened, did you go to the church of "Chopped Tops & Wide Whites" or got tired of polishing all that damn stuff??. Don't feel bad, as i just dumped the chrome wires for steele's and wide whites my self.

I've actually got back into gas welding more in the past year.
Love the mig for ease, but the gas welds look so much cleaner.

Currently I'm having quite the conundrum about running buick drums with Ford wires, WTF am I thinking! Am I a Street Rodder if I have billet wheel adapters? Ahhhhhh!
