I have had terrible luck with calling on the phone. There are a couple guys I talked to that know what they are talking about but I always have to ask for them. The people that answer the phones are jerks to me and have never had anything helpfull or nice to say.

***Scroll up and read posts 24-26 again.... if you can't take a joke(as expected), then don't make them in the first place. I didn't start this thread (or the insults), but when you or anyone else bashes my country (joking or not) I'll give it right back to you...

    There, now we're done.

Actually, I never mentioned Iraq... I happen to have a couple of close friends there with the US Air Force. My wife's not big breasted, but lived in lots of different states when she was with the Air Force.
Just sour on ordering parts, then waiting 3 weeks for someone to put a part in a box... Goin' back to work on the coupe now, didn't mean to start any flame war...

I think speedway's customer service and shipping is among the best. Never had a problem and parts usually arrive earlier than quoted.

Never had a problem with them until the order I just placed. Over half of it is back ordered. Don't know if I would really consider it a problem just that it has never happaed with them before and so many of the items to be out of stock too. Maybe they let the inventery run low at the end of the year for tax reasons. Who knows?!?

Last time I used Speedway was in 1987-88 when I built a 29 coupe. Shipping was real fast, Qualty was A1+ for the price. Allways a good place to deal with . A damn site better than some of the left coast shops I could speak of. Mr. Smith and his crew out in Lincoln seemed to me to be way above average in all the dealings I had with them.I plan on buying some more parts from out there for my 28 roadster build. Might even get a new catalog to. Maybe you just got hold of someone on a off {bad} day.. Hollywood423

I've always had really good luck with Speedway-even when I e-mailed them questions about products they didn't carry. Ask for Marty-very good guy.Knows a lot, very helpful and used to run the dirt track across from my vet hospital in central PA.

The last sentence of your stupid ass joke on post 27 says it all.
Funny as hell to you huh.
If you were here I'ld take you to my buddies grave, then take you to speedway to get your panties out of your crack, turn you north and give ya to 100 to get out of sight.
Wanna keep your joke going newbie ?

We can joke about cars and yea you have to have some thick skin to come on here Mr. 7 poster but the last thing you will ever get away with is a joke about the War and the guys and women who are there to protect US from idiots that wouldn't think twice about killing you or me.
I'ld be damn thankful if I were you.

By the way - what are you building that you are having a tough time getting parts for ?

There, I've turned to corner to cars. Don't Fuk it up and make another joke or comment about the war.

***LOL...um, listen, Internet tough guy, I'll comment on anything I want, but thanks for the "warning" anyway. What are you going to do...shoot me with the gun under your pillow?
Uh no, I'm not "thankful" for the actions of your government & military in this war. Your country invaded Iraq, killed thousands of innocent people and created even more hatred for the USA, and is sacrificing its young people for nothing; not mine. That's hardly something to be "thankful" about. Iraq is a quagmire and the war has NOT made your country (or mine) ANY safer than before. If you haven't figured out that the Bush administration's war is based on lies and deception then that's your problem(oh right (sigh)...you still believe Saddam was behind 9/11, huh? tsk tsk...). If I were you I'd be more worried about the actions of your own government than Iraqis ,"Taliban-ers" , and those damned Canadians.

And for the second time this thread is not about MY car; it was started by SOMEONE ELSE. This forum is not about politics but if you joke about or slight my country, then I'll joke about or slight yours.

Now put down your flag and gun and move on. Back to cars.

  13. im fum nebrasky and i aint never had no problum wiff spedway or the gud skule sistum....i think its gode as hell! Haa haa.
All seriousnes aside, I've been dealing with Speedway for 25 years and never had a problem. If I don't feel like driving the 50 miles to their place, I'll have them ship to me and it's always on my step the next day.. They haven't screwed up my orders yet.
BTW, I also bought an Offenhauser tranny adapter from them a few years ago. It adapted the S-10 5 speed tranny to the 59 AB flathead. It came as a kit with the pilot adapter sleeve and the throwout bearing sleeve. I did have to hone the inside diameter ot the pilot sleeve to get it to go on but that's all. Oh yeah, I had a little starter clearance trouble but a little die grinder work solved it in 2 minutes.
I drove down to Lincoln for that stuff....they had it in stock at that time and I was in and out in 20 minutes.....
If they have trained monkeys there, they're pretty well trained...

Speedway's great. Don't post a "traied monkeys" insult here; don't bitch to us. Call them up, and I'm sure they can set things right.

Yup - you can say what you want.
After reading your Bullshit about worrying about My government more than the Iraqis- Taliban-ers well.. lets put it this way Mr. Smart Ass, If you said anything you want in Iraq or under the Taliban you would be DEAD !
When did you leave the USA in your VW Microbus.. About 1969 ?
Oh, 3,000 of our citizens died and we are suppose to do nothing like the Canadians ?
Keep smoking your dope - Hippie and I hope I run into you some time.
If we do, I'll buy you a Moosehead and clear the air with you.
Actually Canada is a great country and some nice people, at least at the Hockey rinks anyway.

And the original poster is a nice guy who I hope posts and comes around more often.

    I'll end it at that.

Anyone that REALLY wants to ship something to Canda can figure it out.
    Not that Fucking hard.
Especially if that is a big business, not someone working out of their basement.

USPS,UPS,Purolator, etc all manage to find our Igloos.

The amount of paperwork is the same going in both directions.

Shouldn't be too hard to find another supplier.

I ordered rotors, calipers and some other stuff from Speedway, received email the next day, the outer races for the rotors bearings were back ordered and Speedway asked if it was OK to hold order for races.
I received the entire 107 pound order three weeks later after the races were in stock. The entire order was shipped overnight at no charge for shipping.

That qualifies as excellent customer service in my opinion.
