After a long tedious search, my 56 C series is 1/2 way from the Houston area to home near Oklahoma City.
She put up quite a fight with rear brakes locked the whole time but we reeled her in.
She's far from perfect but I'm very happy with overall condition compared to many I have p***ed on. Steps are there so I can rebuild those. Then all the typical rust places. Unfortunately including the drip rail above the windshield.
I'll try my hand at posting pics from this phone...

Congrats on getting your dream truck. Are you going to make it like the COE in your avatar?

Congrats now get to work! ha ha. The 56 I had was picked up on Friday by the new owner. He's going to do a 1 ton to pull his fifth wheel trailer. I'll go take some pictures when he gets working on it.

Is that sitting on a different ch***ie? Wheels look like 16"ers. I have 2 56 COEs gonna make one from them. My running boards are going to have to be rebuilt as pryer owners welded plate steel on em. My door bottoms areruff but rebuild able.

    yeah, it's on a '98 Chevy 1 ton ch***is. No motor/trans
my steps, door bottoms, cab corners, floors, and eye brow above windshield are all in need of rust repair. I know I'm very likely to find more as I dig in though

  12. Did you get the hood with it? Keeping it on the current ch***is? Looks like fun!

Yeah. If you look closely you can see the hood strapped down behind the cab.
I haven't decided on the ch***is. It is a conventional cab ch***is so the steering box points rearward rather than up. I'll probably try to hock the frame on CL and fetch something from an rv or bread truck or box truck. I'd like to get an e450 or e550. Something a little beefier than just a one ton but still narrow enough to fit inside the front fenders. An airport shuttle. Or Oklahoma City uses these type shuttle vans for many of their city bus routes.

I will be starting a build thread as soon as is practical. I coach my ten year olds lego robotics team and I have one eminent bathroom remod and a pending bathroom and kitchen remodels soon thereafter. So late nights do sound likely. I have plenty of rust repair to get started on! Hopefully after the new year I can start the crew stretch.
