Suspension bushing hardness.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Stevie G, Jan 4, 2006.

  1. What is the hardness of most urethane suspension bushings?
Looking at projects down the road and wondering about materials on hand and alternative methods.

Kind of a tough one, but I think you will find most of them will fall in the 10,000-20,000 N/mm range for a smaller control arm type bushing.

I've heard from many a folk that Urethane can actually squeak whereas Poly-Graphite busings are much quieter. Just my .02

  4. I'm toying with the idea of pouring a set to see how that works.
Found a place that sells the resin so you can mix and pour instead of having to mold it.
I really need to find my polymer textbook since i recall anything mixed as being thermoset and not thermoform. But then again, those little beads have to come from somewhere.
    Time to Google.
