The over the counter temp sender I bought for my engine ('55 272) causes the temp gauge to read backwards. Is there a trick to getting the pressed-in adapter out of the old engine block (or better yet one I can purchase at a parts store) and the one in the new engine out as well? I want to put a stock sender into the new engine. Unless of course there is a newer sender that will work with the new engine without having to swap that will read correctly.

To possibly remove and replace here with stock sender

    Thanks

You can get new bushings from the TBird suppliers. I ***ume the car parts suppliers also have them. CASCO shows them in their catalog. 55 and 56 are the same, 57 different. 800-374-0914, www.cl***ictbird.com. Part # 10911 They also have a tool for removing them.

Thanks Paul. It looks like I can make a puller with a washer, 1/4 in. bolt, and a socket and pull the newer adapter??
