Hey everybody, Big Dave from Tn. here. I got my 59 retractable on the road last year and have met some people that were a lot of fun to listen to. I have found out that the bicycle chains and sprockets were the main problem with the top. The hydraulics were bad to leak, and last night I was told the vacuum motors in the top were weak. My wife knows very little about a car but even she gets a good laugh sometimes.

I also had a retractable (a 1958 for many years) and had many of the same experts tell me the same stories. Sometimes it was hard to keep my mouth shut, But we always had a good laugh about the experts later!!
