Alright guys, been along time since I posted but hopefully now that it's getting cold and ****py here in Iowa I can start spending more time on the HAMB. My dad was at a large salvage yard in South Dakota this past Saturday and stumbled across something we hadn't seen before.

This is a '55 Ford Courier, but what is the deal with the odd little windows on the back sides? I'm wondering if maybe this was an old Flower Car of some sort? Hoping someone on here can give me an answer.......

Most funeral homes used higher end cars like Cadillac's for flower cars, my guess its just a home brewed solution for a blind spot.

Awful blind spot in sedan deliveries and panel trucks, often added on p***enger sides. could be factory but my guess dealer or gl*** shop add-on.

I am sure it is a flower car, will they sell it to you? It was not uncommon in smaller rural areas in the Midwest that you would see less expensive he****s and flower cars in the 50's & 60's and earlier. That would be a really fun and rare project.

The real question is why is that car still sitting in a wrecking yard and not in your shop !!

Or, if its not going to ever be in your shop are you going to keep its location unknown to all ?

Lol just found it on Saturday guys, wanted to do alittle research but I believe it can be bought, there was tons of 55-56 Fords in the place, also I believe a 53-54 Delivery? I am going back to get parts off of some of them for my '55 and yes I am going to try and buy this, if it's out of my price range I will be letting everyone know so hopefully someone else can save it

WOW! If the parts & pieces are as good as some of 'em look in your pics, it could be quite profitable for someone with the $$$, time, storage space and expertise to move and/or dismantle some of those cars. Just those front fenders could bring some nice coin if they're solid.

It must be somewhere in Iowa based on the OP's profile.

Actually they are in South Dakota, I have a call in on the '55 Courier to try and get a price and see if they have a ***le or not. I plan to get a pair of Doors for my '55 and a extra trunklid along with some other misc parts. Let me go up to my storage and see but I think I have a complete front grille and parking lights off of my car still sitting up there.

Officer, The side windows in the S/D were factory for the cars (truck) that were delivered for the Goverment (post office?) Check the I.D. and see if it had a S color code
