    Will they fit?

When I first got the car it had some 205/65 15s. They looked fine but were no good. I got some free roller tires but they are tiny. I'm looking to get a free set of 235/75 15s but I wanted to see if anyone had ran this size or seen it before. I know 205/75 is about stock, so I know the 235's will be pretty big. Just want to make sure they'll clear everything first. I've not had much luck searching. Thanks in advance. Ryan

I bought a Pair of P205-75R 15's for the Rear of my 53. I Had problems mounting them. I had the Car on (4) Jack stands and They would not fit between wheel hub and fender. I had to put a jack between the frame & the axle to get them under the Car. Also tried 195-75R's from the front & they will not fit between the space either. Letting out the air did not help. The 7 inch wide wheels may not have helped the problem. Not sure if Jacking one side if the Car at a time would do the Job. I will have to try that sometime.

They will not clear the shallow rear wheel wells unless you swap to a wheel with a more positive offset like late 80's Crown Victoria they also are kind of tall and may look weird, one trick is to use Mr.Gasket 2" shock extensions on the rear this will let the rear end drop down lower when it is jacked up.You could always take the 235's and craiglist them to pay for something shorter, common size on 1/2 ton pickups. If you look at my Avatar those are 195/75R/14's on a 6" U.S. MAG the rear required the inner bead on the rear to be rolled in plus the extensions.

I think a 225 70 on a six inch wheel is about as big as you can go.
