Here's hoping that all our members came out safe and sound after the round of tornadoes that hit the area.Prayers and best wishes to all the folks that were affected by the storms,it is a miracle more people did not lose their lives in a way with Thanksgiving just around the corner a lot of folks will have much to be thankful for that the lives of loved ones and friends were spared.
am ok here just ouside of st louis. i think most of the heavy damage is to our north around peoria area. news reports one tornado on the ground for 46 miles. yes, miles, not minutes. new minden ill about 60 miles south east of st louis got hit as well. elderly brother and sister perished. there is a church there that was built in mid to late 1800 thats been hit 4 or 5 times by tornados if i remeber the story correctly.
New Minden is about 50 miles north of me, and Brookport about 70 miles south. We watched it unfold on TV as we sat on a sunny windy afternoon. Like Jeff said, prayers and good wishes for all directly involved.
Like dwanerz, I'm near St. Louis. It was like the Pres was in town... A lot of wind and not much else..
Had 2 trees come down on my property, otherwise no damage but now I have more wood to process for the fireplace. Power went out late Sunday afternoon, just came back on today (Friday) at about noon.
