I'm finally finishing up with the dash in my 56.
I went with a GPS speedometer and S/W Wings white face gauges. When I installed the temp gauge, it read way high (245º when it was actually 165º). I put a resister in line with the sending unit and now it reads right.
The oil pressure and volts read right with no problems.
The S/W gas sending unit is five holes and as you all know, the Ford is six holes.
Today I got with my neighbor and we made an adapter for it. The only thing we had to allow for was the thickness of the adapter when cutting the float rod (½ inch).
Tomorrow I'll wire the gauge and add pictures of the dash with all the gauges installed.
Here is what the adapter looks like. It was pretty simple.

Top side. The extra dimples are because we forgot to clock the sending unit so the new float would face same way as the old one. Luckily we only marked where we needed the holes before drilling them all the way through. After cutting the rod to the right length, it probably wouldn't have made much difference as the rod is only about 5 inches long.

Hey, just looked up on those GPS Speedo's. Pretty slick gauge setup and easy installation as well.
