Think those are on Ebite also, along with the block and other parts.

If someone buys them thinking they are 312 parts they will be seeking anger management, some mid 50's Y-block 292 and 312 blocks actually had the same block casting number so checking the crank code is important. There is a ton of comment on Ford forums about folks thinking they have a 312 (or wishful thinking) only to find out they have a 292,buyer beware.

ECZ-A heads ARE 1956 312 Merc heads as stated. They are just not the more desirable 1957 ECZ-G heads.

Actually if you want to get down to it, there are no "312" heads. ECZ-G heads were used on 272 and 292 also in 1957.

The only "312" heads are F code big chamber heads. Everything else went on whatever Y-block ford built for that year.

Scrolling down on the chart posted here:http://www.ford-y-block.com/cylinderheadchart.htm It appears that the ECZ-A heads came with different valve sizes and different compression ratios, more information about the craigslist heads is needed. It looks like the "A" heads are the lower 8 to 1 compression ratio.

The reason for the different compression ratios on the '56 "A" heads is due to the different piston displacement, not the size of the combustion chamber.
