im thinking about trading down to a 56 2 door wagon project. no motor or trans. better body than my 55 needs floors patched. guy wants a grand straight out but told me he might trade my way. http://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/4196541831.html
i couldn't give my 55 2 door wagon away. and mine runs and drives, plus it came with everything needed to restore it, plus i had a whole other roof. So i decided to restore it myself. I'd get it if i were you. they are rare.
I'll side with Rockabillykat,DO NOT let that one slip away from you it is a rare find there was one here in Phoenix about the same condition also no engine or trans went for $6K.
Are you taling about trading the red/white 55 in your profile? If so I wouldn't but would grab the wagon if at all possible. You can continue driving your 55 while you build the 56.
id buy it straight out but i dont have the cash. and yes my red and white 55. its not on my dream cars list. the wagon is. ive already got more projects than ill ever get done in my life. its not like i need another project. ive still got my 53 f100 and 48 2 door sedan . the roadster p/u . is not happening. its wall art.
too far away jeff and lots more money, im thinking if i can trade some other stuff for it ill get it. he said he was intrested in some of my other stuff. but not trade the 55. at the rate i get stuff done itd be a few years or more till i had another running car.
Merc-o-madness If they are the 60 inch by 14 wide cruiser skirts, I'd give 100 all day for them. I paid 650 for the ones on my 55 Ford and that was 10 years ago. I think I will e-mail this guy to see if wants to sell the skirts. If the car has rust in the floor pans, the rockers probably are rusted too. Watch out for rust around the drip rails..... A friend of mind back in the 90's took a 2 door 56 parklane wagon and cut the roof off to make a rancho out of it. He used 56 crown Vick roof moulding on it. At car shows the Ford guys would come up and tell that he was crazy for cutting up a Crown. Bill would just laugh....
Merc-o-madness was making fun of how skirts was spelled in the Craigslist ad, it was spelled shirts. I agree that $100 for cruiser skirts is cheap but $100 for a shirt is a little pricey.
I saw that car too. ( We live about 3 hours apart , my daughter goes to UTK).If its your dream car and you do not like your 55, then go for it. I got my 56 when I was 14 or 15 , I always wished I would have bought a 2 door and have been looking out for one. ............I have too many projects too and have a problem focusing on one. Like..........while driving my little ford ranger thinking.........this would really be nice with a v8. Then I think, wait I have the 56 town sedan and 54 f100 to do first. Merry Christmas
i built a v8 ranger when i was 17, lots of fun then but not all you would think it would be. i would get alot of cash to trade my car. but ive talked myself out of that. if i can trade some of my other stuff i will. there are 2 wagons on my list . either a willys wagon or a 55 or 56 for 2 door wagon, sedan delivery or handy man. i would be happy with any of them. but unlikely id ever get one completed if its not already done. i also have to go pick up a 63 buick skylark vert i got give to me for my wife. he thinks it should run.
Go for the wagon, go for the wagon, go for the wagon, go for the wagon, go for the wagon, go for the wagon, go for the wagon, go for the wagon, go for the wagon, go for the wagon. Get my drift??
