I have a 55 and want to replace the headliner (already purchased). There are two rows of tack strip mounted to the underside of the roof in the center for securing the headliner using staples. I have not found a source for replacement strips. They are about 1/2' wide x 1/2" tall and each run the width of the roof (secured by metal tabs that are in good condition). Anyone aware of a source?
Are they the paper type? You will probably have to replace them with plastic. Check with an upholstry shop.

Zoegrant - thanks. I had seen that; it is a different size from what is in the car and would make it more difficult to fasten to and have less holding power due to the thinner width. But may not have any options. As Paul2748 suggested, I may need to check with some upholstery shops if I can't find a vendor. Thank you both for your thoughts/info.
Something if used in the past is a old 'v' belt. Not the cheap ones for furnace motors etc but the reinforced ones with the belting in them like a automotive fan belt. Staples hold better in those and fit nicely in the 1/2 groove.
