Can some of you guys name some bands with some cool hotrod songs i can down load. My girl friend is umm doing this "dance" compi***ion at her work and is doing it all to hotrod music and stuff but i need a slower song let me know what yall got Bryan
I've been racking my brain for the last 15 minutes and can't think of anything slow... sorry. Tryin to keep this at the top for ya. Beep Beep has some slow sections... sorry...
"A Young Man is Gone" by the Beach Boys?? (About James Dean dying in a car wreck). "Race The Devil" by the Stray Cats "Manic Mechanic" by ZZ Top "Rough Boy" by ZZ Top (not a car song, but it's a smoker!)
ok we need something that would go well with pouring oil on ones body right now it goes hotrod girl by brian setzer fuel by metallica and ???
OK, here are a few... Primus- Jerry Was a Racecar Driver Ministry- Jesus built my Hot Rod Rev Horton Heat or many other artists...- Hot Rod Lincoln **** Dale tunes, or the Dynotones Now for the far out selections: Madness - Driving in my car Cake - Race Car YaYa's & The Distance (or whatever it is called) and a rap tune to even things up... Beasties - Slow and Low Damn, I have too much time....
Stray Cats/Brian Setzer have some good stuff. Setzer-"Hot Rod Girl", "59", "Who Would Love This Car But Me", "Smokin' N' Burnin'" and not hot rod per se, but slow, cover version of "Luck Be a Lady". Stray Cats-"Rev It Up and Go", "Crusin", "Race With the Devil" Dusty 45's- "32 Quarters", "289-V-8" I also have a collection of Hot Rod records from the late fifties and early sixties but most of those songs are very obscure and hard to get.
Jesus built my Hot Rod was Ministry. But Jerry was a race car driver would work well, especially when les mumbles "dog will hunt"... Jay
I knew that, just seeing if you were paying attention. For some dumb reason, I had it in my head that it was Primus, and I know better. Must be old age...hahaha
How about Last Kiss, about some guy killing his chick in a car wreck,I can't remember who sang it though. It's kinda slow...
last kiss was J frank wilson and the cavaliers, then later pearl jam. that's a nice slow one, not super hotroddy though.
Jewel wrote and sings a slow blues song called V-12 Cadillac that would do well as an oil-pouring dance number.
**** Dale - Hot Rod racer Eddie Cochran - Drive-In-Show John fogerty - Hot Rod Heart King Memphis - Flat Black Cadillac Nelson Riddle - Route 66 Theme Song Paladins - 15 days under the hood Ronnie Dawson - V8 Ford Boogie Tex Rubinowitz - Lone Wolf The Duals - Stick Shift These are the slowest I could find.....
I got Mad Fabricator's soundtrack Vol II on heavy rotation; lots of good stuff on there. Now, about this "dance compe***ion" . . .
For slow car songs: Springsteen's "Pink Cadillac" (semi-slow, but ***y beat) The other fave from him, though it's a boppin' tune, "Ram Rod" ("She's a hot-steppin' Hemi with a four-on-the-floor/Well she's a Roadrunner engine in '32 Ford/ Late at night when I'm dead on the line/ I think of yer purty face when I let her unwind...") Chuck Berry's "No Particular Place To Go" might work well. Southern Culture on the Skids' "Fried Chicken & Gasoline"
Tom Waits - Big black Mariah SpiderBait- Black Betty Both kinda About hot rods My all time favorite Stripper song Oh Sorry Dancer.. The Rev - One time for me Most places won't play it cause it is suggestive ( Go figure)
Just realized that I had a major brain-fart yesterday. "Stickshifts and Safetybelts" is a Cake song, not Primus. But you might want to check out "The distance" by Cake. It's kinda slow, but still rocks.
Not really a hotrod song, but very cool cruise music. The Cramps "Bikini Girls with Machine Guns" it rocks!
Rumble - Link Wray is a good suggestion... would go well with a... ummm... dance compe***ion. Other hot rod songs that come to mind: Gettin' it on - Corrosion of Conformity Catch me if you can - the Scream Rev on the Redline - Foreigner Panama - Van Halen (sorta a car song, maybe?) Can't think of anything "slow", except for maybe that foreigner song above... all about street racing. Maybe it would work?
Mercury Blues by Steve Miller. KC Douglas wrote it, I think Alan Jackson did the original version; it was better.
"Switchblade 327. lit cigarette in his hand. Steel-toed boots on the accelerator. Oil leakin' outta the pan......." Need more? How 'bout "Jesus Built My Hot rod"?
