Hi all, Just picked up a 54 Customline with the original running gear. Not sure how to post a pic... Quick question: with the stock ride height, what wheel size / tire size work the best? Dan
Welcome to our Group! Since I own a '54 Customline the big issue with 1952-54 Fords is shallow clearance in the rear wheel wells I would go with a 205/75R15 tire, not all of these have the same section width more expensive tires can be somewhat wider a good "bang for the buck" are these:http://www.pepboys.com/tires/details/Cornell/1000/9378313/01049/ These as close as you'll get to the original bias size 670X15's and they wear very well.
I run the PepBoys Cornell 1000 205/75R-15's on stock rims on my '54 Customline Fordor with no issues. Three trips form SC to Daytona for the Turkey Run without trouble, and my ride is usually the "Taxi" with five lard ***es in the car!
