yes I did a search, nothing for 460.... do they bolt in as does a 302 and 390 ?? anybody done one, with ant info on the pros and cons.. thanks
I know nothing about putting one in Lloyd But there was a 54 Ford project car for sale on Craigslist several months back in CAli with a 460 installed but the front sheet metal was off but came with the car. Thats all I can tell you on it.
Sounds like you want something different? You might want to read this:http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/engine/hrdp_0702_ford_400m_engine_build/ Now we know that to install a 302/351W we use late Mustang mounts well since the 400 M uses the Cleveland base those mounts will also work in your '54 Since the 400 M is kind of the "red headed stepchild" I have seen Edelbrock intakes under $100 on the local craigslist. As you can see in the article they can be a torque "beast" calling for a rear end swap. But if you read some earlier posts 8.8's with lockers are a cheap swap.
Check with beatnik here on the HAMB, he has a '55 Wagon with a 460/C6 combo. I don't know if he built the car or bought it with that engine and trans but he may be able to give you more information. '54 and '55 frames are very similar.
Crites has headers and mounts for the 55/56. I have no idea about 54's though. I have bought a lot of things from them and it is important to know that they build to order so sometimes it takes as much as 6 weeks to get parts. I ordered way ahead (going on 3 years lol) and never had a problem Edit: I just checked their site and they list 54 as well. http://www.critesperformanceparts.com/
the 390 bolts right in with y block mounts in rear location on 390 also flipped driver side to p***enger side. the 460 need frame modifications done to fit.
