1952-59 Ford 54 merc clutch kit

    having trouble finding a clutch kit or parts
    does any one know if ford and merc the same and/or where to get them??

    cant find any specific listings for the merc
    tried joblot macs c&g... help?

    If you have a good old timey clutch rebuilder in your area it might be better and cheaper to go that route. I did that with my '55 Merc, rebuilt disc and pressure plate and new T O bearing for 90 bucks. He even had the pressure plate on the shelf for exchange.

    Not sure if Y-blocks and 6 cylinders share clutch stuff, but if its a Y-block the 10 inch lever pressure plate can be rebuilt, and the clutch discs are readily available. The '54 merc stuff I used when putting a Srod transmission in my brothers mercury was all the same as my ford stuff. (Obviously when removing, not installing.)
