I am Installing there Disc brake kits. They are the cheaper then everyone else that offers a complete kit. Toms is the name they use on ebay but they are Auto city cl***ic off ebay. I was at Carisle and they dropped 100 off the kit. I think I got them down 130 after beating up the guy for 5 minutes. I have to say I do not like the brakets. You have to grind to get them to fit and since it is not machined it will never be 100 percent true. I had to grind the bracket also just to fit. Anyone have these on there car? I sould just have spent the grand from drop and stop.
I have the kit but have not installed them yet. Can you provide more detail about what needs to be ground down and where? Maybe post pictures?
What year do you have? The tell you to grind the rear of the control arm were the original bolt for the backing plate is. You also have to grind the arm to the tie rod. But it will still not fit. You have to grind the bracket right were it hits the upper arm under the old wheel cylinder mount. Also you have to grind the bracket so it can clear the arm to the tie rod. This point rest on top of the arm. Do these two first. My first side I did not do the bracket untill after which resulted in grinding to much behind the backing plate bolt. No big deal as I just shimmed it. One side took an hour and half. After knowing what needed to be done 25 minutes on the other.
scarebird has good brackets ... i have maybe 600 in total on my disc set up / master cylinder and all small parts
My set up is the later 57 to 64. They sell alot so I have to see how they work. The scarebird set up does look better as the brackets bolt to the old backing plate holes. If I have problems I will change over those brackets.
I have autocity cl***ic setup on my 56 victoria. It fit right in no problems besides they sent wrong washers for bearings.
