What would you pay for a 41-47 Chevy Truck?

As it sits I have probably less than 5K into it. I got the body for a very good deal at an auction, so that factors in to the low amount of money I have invested. I spent the money on new parts where it made sense and was worth it, and the only work I didn't do myself was the exhaust. It's very well built, and would be a fairly high-end truck if I simply painted it, but that wasn't my intent and never will be for this truck. It's appraised at $22,500, and would not be worth any more if it were a 100% stock restoration.

I'm 6'2", so the cab is kind of tight. The seating position is perfect for me, because I set the seat exactly where I wanted it. The truck fits me perfect, but for those with a little more spare tire in front it's a little more tight. They are very small cabs, but it's very comfortable even on an 8 hour drive, considering the small cab size.

Not sure about your area, but around here Fords of that era are plentiful, and don't go high, but Chevys are pretty scarce, and go much higher than Fords.

Up here in the North.....I'd say it's a nice truck and would probably pay $ 2,500.00 for it provided it is as rust free as it looks...

Nice truck , but its a matter of the area and over all cond here by me they just arnt wanted but still scarce I've seen a few for 1500 in about the same shape but out in Nebraska its probably only worth 1200 or so being there's so many up in newyork I'd say north of 3000 I think 2k is fair for it as long as it is nice and complete but as a flip I woldnt go near it no one will buy your for a higher price if they could go down most any farm area and pick one up for less , but its cool as a project its got a nice look I'd clean it and clear it put a frame under it newer motor trany brakes susp and have a cool driver
Good luck with it ether way

...looks like we need to go to the S. Carolina area and start buyin these $8-1500 trucks...around here that truck would be a great buy @ $2500.

My "46 has been p***ed along from my grandfather to my dad, then to me...It took me years to finally get to it. Everything needed rebuilt. I don't know what it's worth as far as what somebody would be willing to pay... I figured running and safer to drive would be better than a restoration. Didn't need another gas drinker, so I put a 4.3 FI engine and a 4L60e in it.. I'd buy it if there is no rush..then think about what the next step will be..cool truck!

I'm heading back from Afghanistan now and will be going to look at it soon. I really just want to make it a daily driver cheap with some s10 parts or something and keep the patina. Thanks for the input.

Sorry guys I should have tried to close this thread. I had not stopped thinking about this truck and was even planning to go get it. Well my dad didn't express my interest enough to his father in law and he sold it. Really bummed. My dad didn't even tell his wife that I wanted it. So thanks a lot dad.

Wow, I'd be bummed too. There are more out there, you'll find another one I hope.

I firmly believe that should be an option for the person who starts the thread. Locking it that is. I also think threads should automatically lock if they are inactive for a certain amount of time and that the OP has to reopen them for further discussion. Then maybe we wouldn't have first time posters answering threads that have laid dormant in the archives for the past seven years with inane answers because they stumbled on them on Google.
