So, I want to just use the top of the hood with no sides. What is the suggested way ? I have seen belts....but, have seen no belts for a cleaner look. Any help would be great. Thanks
This question was ask yesterday about a Model A but the same thing would apply to a Deuce. HRP Read the reply's below: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/model-a-hood.922672/#post-10418947
I made some hooks that slip into the hinge holes. I attached some springy fishing line and put them in the front and back holes. It has worked great for 25 years. No rattle and you have to get down on your knees to see it. The hood stays very secure and can be eaasily opened to add oil or water.
big deuce that's exactly how I did mine (for some reason I haven't take pics), with the added feature of a stainless rod between the front and back latches with an eyelet at either end. The eyelets have small rubber washers in them which hold them snugly to the 'handles' of the latches. The rod is just the right length to hold the two latches in place for hard driving... Our roads **** and the vibrations used to undo a latch once in a while. The rod prevents that from happening. This is all hidden from view just like in big deuce's images. Dave
