Looking for some help in identifying Electroline Headlights. I have a pair of 'headlights', without rings and was advised that they are Electrolines with significant value. While they look identical to eBay #221375680441 which sold in February, I am unsure. If they are not Electrolines, I do not want to misrepresent them and waste time asking a price which is unrealistic. They are listed (eBay 251516009878) and I have a few days in which to make a decision. Any help is appreciated.
I have received a PM indicating the lights without trim rings to be authentic. Any other comments or opinions are greatly appreciated.
Multiple photos are available for your review on eBay. The listing number is above, or just search 'Electroline'. Much appreciated.
I believe my post says: ..."I am 'guessing' these to be 1930's or 1940's Art Deco Vintage Auto Lamp Headlights which I believe to be Electroline 2200's..." and I also state: "Please perform your own due diligence prior to bidding." My request of people like yourself is to either confirm or contradict this so that I do not mislead anybody. I reference the 'Electroline' as this is what others have told me they are and I do not have the knowledge to make any definitive statement. Your help, comments, or advice (either positive or not) are appreciated. Best Regards. This post is a response to a statement above, which has since been deleted.
I know that Electroline made a sealed beam conversion for '37-'39 Fords that resembles a '40 Ford headlight ***embly as well as making aftermarket sealed beam conversion kits for other late '20s and '30s vehicles. These headlights may not be specific for any make and model and look like they could be used on many late '20s to early '30s vehicle. Also, big truck manufacturers usually outsourced parts like headlights. Most used BLC or Guide, but some may have used Electroline.
Very good information, thank you. They came off a '36 1 1/2 ton Chevy I purchased which was built in Canada. I do not know the history of this truck but do know that the 'Maple Leaf' was very similar to his American cousin, but there were differences. Whether these were original issue, or not, I have no idea. All I do know is they do not meet my application requirements so off to eBay they go. Thank you again for your time and information.
The trim rings do seem to be a challenge. Are there any after-market manufacturers? I did see a pair of lights and trim rings sold in Feb for $1,700 and a pair of trim rings by themselves at $600 on eBay. I significantly reduced the lights as they do not fit my plans.
It is going to be a difficult search for those trim rings, it took me months to find my pair as a complete set. Best of luck on the sale, it's too bad because they are great looking lights (either versions with or without the gl*** marker/indicator on top)
