History What's significant about the 549 number?

Love the T-shirt so I will ask what's significant about the 549 number on the roadster on the new t-shirt?

 

That's the number of dudes @Ryan had to "cut" when they trashed the HAMB version 2.0. Seriously.

BTW in this version I seem to have lost my Normskull avatar. Just sayin...

 

International built a 549 cu in V8!

 

It's just one less than 550 which is half of 1100...just sayin'

I thought it was from Junior Samples used cars phone # BR 549 on the Buck Owens Show but it appears it was around before that.

i look at that photo and my first reaction was he showed up with number 49 painted on the car, but 49 was already ***igned so they added the 5
