    Hi,
I'm looking for an aluminum sheetmetal supplier I can work with in WI or near by.
What I want is to find a place where they don't rip your face off when you buy smaller quan***ies. Usually it's the shipping that costs a ton so if it's not too far from S.E. WI so much the better. Specifically I'd like to find some 3003 H13 as this is what I'm told is the best for fabricating aluminum bodies.

    3003 H14 is common. Don't think you'll find anything in H13.

Lots of times you can find 3003 sheet at supply houses catering to the HVAC and roofing trades where you can pick it up a sheet at a time.

You may also find sheetmetal shops in your area will sell it to you at a reasonable markup, especially so if you deal with the owner, pay cash, and don't need a receipt.

The big metal warehouses like Ryerson or EMJ or similar aren't interested in selling small quan***ies because that's not what they're set up to do. They'll sell any quan***y if the buyer insists, but its never cheap. And anything delivered in sheet goods has to be skidded to prevent damage, and for a couple or 3 sheets skidding and delivery can add another hundred bucks to the price.

Speedy metals has been great for me. I have bought as small as a 4" piece of 2" OD steel pipe. They are in Waukesha so it isn't a long drive. from anywhere in SE WI

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I've bought some metal from Speedy but the shipping and packing kill yah. I'm also going to give metlmuncher's suggestion a shot.

Cedarburg area. I need to contact Speedy metals and see if they sell whole sheets I guess. All that comes up on they're site are small 1 or 2 sq. foot pieces

They sell any quan***y you want. I have a couple full sheets of mild steel and a sheet of aluminum from them as well.

Speedy Metals can't be beat! And for the guys that need stuff shipped(like me), they ship same day, for very reasonable prices. Here in Chicago, that means, I get my metal next day.
And they really DO cut any size, any amount. I had them cut 60 pieces of 1/4" square stock, 2 inches long... For a jig I was making. I can't remember what I paid for them to do it, but I know I laughed, cuz it wasn't much at all...
