Thanks buddies Inspiration is a thing and copying is another thing... I'm inspired by a lot of works like Rolling Bones, Brian Bass, HHr and many more but I try to make something different, with my very little hands and I hope you will not be disappointed...
Those are AA Ford deluxe delivery doors. 30 31 only. They are as rare as hen's teeth and demand a decent dollar in restoration circles. He could probably trade them even up plus some money to him for restored pick up two door sedan doors.
Holy crap, this thing is off to a killer start. Supscribed. I love the rivited plates on the frame. very cool. Cant wait to see more.
Some questions: With a flat crossmember, there will be zero suspension travel unless you completely remove the outside of the frame rail. Maybe you are going to do this in the future? Also, with a flat crossmember, stock u-bolts etc., there is no room left for the bottom radiator tank. What are your plans? Mount the radiator in front? I assume the front axle is still at the stock wheelbase location and the crossmember moved back?
Many thanks to all, guys ! Your comments are motivating. Are you sure ? Because my body was on A frame, not a AA ? I prefer the moulding of my doors and as I'm not in the restoration, so much the better if they are very rare. The cut is made for the suspension travel and It's good but as I did not made the finishing at this time, I don't have picture. For the radiator, yes it will be ahead the crossmember, It's for that that I keep original U-bolts style. The crossmember is moved back and the grill shell will be in front of it.
Outstanding build. I wish I had your talent and the time to build like this. Yes I will be following this one.
For the talent, I don't have more than anybody... but practice makes perfect For the time, I have a full time job whence I come back at 6.30pm and 2 or 3 days a week I go to school in the evening. I also have a family with a 4 years old's child I guard when my girlfriend work the night every two weeks. Thus, I don't have more time than majority of people and I work when it's possible. That's why there are already 6 months I started the frame Just for the fun, the louvers in the hood made with a great friend, Mika : And as I don't like the molding around the louvers on 30-31 hood sides, we have removed that like on '32 hood sides :
Really like the hot rod louvers on top with stock louvers on sides of the hood. Those doors are neat!! Sure to be a "one off" and have people guessing! Seems I have seen your friend Mika's name mentioned in other threads. Does he have a hotrod shop in your area? Look's like equipment is more than average builder would have around. Great looking work! Earl
Oh my,, I do like the direction this one is taking, seeing the photo of the panel tells us we are on the way to seeing another knockout car rolling out of your shop.
There Is A Model A Pickup In The Portland area that uses those doors. It's bitchin. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Earl, Mika is a member of our club, he don't have a shop but he makes a crazy job. He is also on the hamb, he's mika112.
