Not sure how many people got the news on this ,but E - Bay has been hacked & advised people to change their password !!

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, and maybe it will end up where it can do the best to advise folks.

We heard about this earlier this morning, so we changed the EBay password which meant we also had to change ESnipe password. Thanks for letting others know.

  4. I have not gotten any messages from them advising me to change password, you would think they would do a bulk email about it.

  6. This advisory doesn't pass the smell test. I haven't heard anything from ebay about this.Have had emails trying to prompt this sort of thing and where bogus. But will keep an ear open.

Tedley, it may not pass your smell test but it sure is on the news. Google "EBay Hack" , you'll find plenty even from EBay.

I didn't get an email but did see the news link and did change my password this morning a step that was probably long overdue.

  10. Won't hurt to change it either way. I sure did.

Thanks for the info, I had no idea, and I wouldn't have believed it from an email but it's on their home page so I'm pretty confident it's legit. Gave my friends the heads-up on the situation as well.

This isn't the first time. I cancelled my e-bay account years ago then got a message from them wanting to know if the stuff I was selling online was legit 2 years later. Someone was using my dead account to try and sell bullshit pictures of parts and cars stolen from the net. So I pointed out to them that my account was SUPPOSED to be deleted 2 years before and so OBVIOUSLY it wasn't legit. All they did aparently was cut off my access to my account but they left the account there so somebody could hack it. I will NEVER trust ebay or paypal. Your mileage may vary.
