I've asked this question before but I'm about to start working on my 52. It has a Bonneville subframe, I'm going to cut the subframe out but don't know if it's better to try to do a custom mustang 2 or late model crown vic? I want to slam it, mustang 2 seems to be the best solution for that but the universal stang 2 kits aren't wide enough for what my width will be. Any suggestions? The bonneville is out of the question, the welds are horrible, I have to replace it anyways.

The Crown Vic thing looks interesting to me. I think a decent donor car could be had very reasonably. You could get the whole package--frame,engine driveline, ecm, etc. I don't know how easily it could be bagged and slammed, but you'd have a smooth ride when finished. There's a guy on You Tube that that does one in a video---pretty cool deal.
