For my first summer on the road I carried a full trunk of parts, supplies, and tools, but everything went pretty smoothly, so I thinned it down. Now I carry a small tool box with a ratchet set, screwdriver with different tips in the handle, adjustable wrench, pliers, tape, wire, tire gauge, a blanket, spare tire, 4 way lug wrench, sissor jack under the back seat, and a jug of water just in case, it is a flatty. Oh, and don't forget the special screwdriver I made to take the caps off of my reversed wheels. Hopefully I'll never need any of it on the side of the road.

You should do a search. I recall that either av8 or C9 did a post of what they carry. Or av8 did a post of what Tardel has in his car kit. I don't remember it very well. (Its Friday after work, I don't have to remember anything until Monday) I saved the link to the thread but I'm too lazy to look for it right now.

Depends on the car/truck and which country I'm drivin' in.... In the EU you gotta have a reflective triangle and a first aid kit

Here I carry something to pee in....Heart meds are a *****....and a AAA card

Lately I have been thinkin' that I need to carry the pee bottle in Europe too!!

Left a few things off the list I noticed

    electrical tape
    vice grips
    hose clamps
and as someone else mentioned, always carry a cell phone.

If I traveled with guys like me I would not need to bring an entire garage with me. Knock on wood, I have only need the electrical items once (while in PA) but have used some of my supplies to help other HotRodders...(To protect the innocent I will not devulge their names....)

I carry my cell phone and a list of all the walmarts in the country. There is one within walking distance no matter where you are in the country and they are all open 25.4 hours a day with a great selection of tools and trailer supplies. For the cost of a small decent stanley tool set $25 or anything else I would ever need to fix my car, it is not worth bringing my whole tool chest with me to every event. More room in the trunk for beer coolers.

There was an article in American Rodder on it years ago-didnt realise how much you could stick in a A roadster trunk and still have room for an overnight bag etc.

as for me...duct tape is my friend:D along with a test light one of them multi tool pocketknife thingys and an allen wrench to uncap the pipes:D when Im away from the city.

Guy called Rumbleseat lives in Colorado and the last few years he's been takin' a trip in his '34 flathead powered roadster. Year b4 last he traveled from CO. to Florida and up the east coast into New York, then Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota and then home. It was about a 9,800 mile trip most of it in the rain! Year b4 it was about a 7,000 mile trip on the west coast. Last year it was to the northwest and into Canada, then Idaho and Montana.

Year b4 last I visited with him in Columbus, on his way thru, with light sprinkles and he arrives with the top down. Says it's OK cause he uses Rainex for aftershave. I should prolly introduce him to Hot rod lady cruiser. :D

Trunk full of tools and spare parts including Bendix, starter, generator, 2 or 3 Strombergs, couple of water pumps and more. He has parts tagged on his bench when he leaves Colorado so if he needs something he doesn't have with him his wife can overnight to him.

I guess I should also mention he's 74 years old this year!
